I was immensely proud to issue the Year 5 and 6 children with their Theory of Music Grade 1 certificates in Celebration Assembly this morning.

On May 8th the vast majority of these children, having had a year of music lessons with me, took this examination in our hall. We became an accredited examination centre with Trinity College London months previously, so I was delighted to offer our children the opportunity to add a further feather in their cap.

The test was two hours long, but many of them finished early and had plenty of time to go over their answers.

When the time was up, there was pizza ready for them to enjoy while I collected the papers and sent them off to Trinity.

Last week, I received the good news that ALL of the children passed!

21% passed;
53% passed with merit;
26% passed with distinction.

Congratulations to everyone for taking this exam and for doing so incredibly well. You are a true credit to the school!
