Wow! It’s been a fun filled play scheme with a festive twist.

Here are some of the things we’ve done this week:

On Monday we began by making our own Christmas tree decorations. The play schemers painted their baubles and decorated with festive ribbon. We think they’ll look stunning on the Christmas tree.

We sang Christmas Carols including ‘Santa Claus is coming to Town’ and ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’ and I think they must have heard our rendition of ‘Jingle Bells’ all the way over in Buckingham Palace.

In the afternoon we watched The Snowman and The Snowdog and had a go at creating our own Snowman inspired animations on the iPads. We also created a Christmas Music Video using our green screen. We had so much fun making this film which you can watch by clicking the video below:

On Tuesday the play schemers went to the Panto to watch Red Riding Hood at Hoxton Hall. There was lots of “It’s behind you!” and “Oh no she didn’t!”. Everyone really enjoyed the pantomime. Red Riding Hood’s Mummy was especially funny and made us laugh a lot.

We only had a half day on Wednesday but that didn’t stop us from having a busy morning. The play schemers went down to Forest School. They had a great time climbing all over the adventure playground.

They even made chocolate orange cakes on an open fire. What a delicious end to the play scheme.

We hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we’ll see you in 2017.
