We’re proud to release the HD PGL video containing a snapshot of all the activities the Year 4 – 6 children enjoyed from November 22nd to November 24th. We were so lucky with the weather, and although it was chilly, it hardly rained and we had some gloriously sunny days. From first thing in the morning until late afternoon, the PGL team packed the children’s days with activity upon activity leaving hardly any time to feel bored or homesick.

In this video, you will see the children participating in:

Buggy Build – There was a number of components available, including large plastic barrels, ropes and poles. The PGL staff gave as much or as little support as the children needed but it was great to see this teamwork exercise and how it helped with improving their communication, problem solving and decision-making.

Quad Biking – Children learnt safety first, then took to the bikes on a practise run with a member of the PGL staff closely supporting them. Once they were confident, the children sped around the track.

Archery – Archery is about technique rather than strength so everyone has the chance to excel. A bow and arrows can be tricky to manage but the PGL instructors taught the children how to use them safely.

Aeroball – A cross between trampolining and volleyball! Children used the bounce from the trampoline to stop their opponents scoring goals whilst trying to score some themselves. Not as easy as it sounds!

Hiking – With 45 acres of grounds and woodland, the opportunity on a sunny day to take in the views was unmissable. Many racked up 17K steps over the three hours they hiked, but it was well worth it.

Fencing – This Olympic sport is both physically and mentally demanding. Children developed good hand to eye co-ordination and lightning quick reflexes!

Survivor – Children learnt some skills to help them keep warm and dry when all they have is what they can find. Their team mates built a shelter in a wilderness environment on centre then learnt how to start a fire with basic resources.

During our stay, I posted some photos on the website (found HERE).

There was a gift shop onsite, but we think that the video is the best souvenir for children to remember their fun little holiday. Enjoy!
