The children in our Community Project RW group have been busy thinking about how they can make a difference to their local community and have decided to focus on food banks to help disadvantaged families. Dolly, Lily-Mae and Miia last week called a number of supermarkets and managed to cajole the Co-op on Hackney Road to agree to a donation.
Today, the group took a trip to meet Zara at the Co-op who said that the children could help themselves to tins to the value of £20!
Here’s a photo of the children in the supermarket and on the way back to school laden with their goods.
Thank you to the children and to the Co-op for the goodwill shown and for helping to support the children’s project.
Next week they’re off to the Hackney Food Bank to take a tour and understand a bit more about what they do there.
