We have had a very busy few weeks in Year One. We went on a trip to see St Anne’s church in Hoxton, started fires in Forest School and created our own dance in P.E.! In class we have been working hard on our reading and spelling skills as well as learning about Traditional Tales, descriptions and questions in Literacy.
In Maths we have covered division, doubling and we have just started work on measuring length. We are thrilled that our new balcony is completed and have been making the most of the lovely weather by having outdoor lessons and a ‘restaurant’ role play area! It has been lovely seeing the children either placing orders from the menu, busy cooking in the ‘kitchen’ or collecting money from the customers!
Forest School has been a highlight of the week where the children have been busy making dens and printing on to wood recently. In Art we produced some wonderful portraits last week. It was so nice to see every child taking great care to draw with accuracy and everyone was very pleased with the results! Jackie and I are so proud of how the children are doing. Have a lovely half term holiday and we look forward to a fun, jam-packed end to the school year when we return!
