Wowee!  What a fantastic month May has been, full of creativity and learning.  Both the trips to the Tate Modern and to the Tate Britain were a huge success.  Your children astounded we adults with how insightful they were when talking about the different art they encountered.  They were able to share observant, imaginative, funny and sometimes just plain weird ideas about what they saw.  I’m delighted to add that pretty much everyone made me so proud with their respectful and polite behaviour whilst out and about in big ol’ London!

Learning in other areas has encompassed adding, shapes and symmetry in maths as well as writing book reviews, recounts and stories in literacy.  Everyone has been working really hard on producing ever neater handwriting just lately and the improvements are marvellous.  Our tomato plants are coming on nicely and everyone enjoyed the experiments with cress seeds to test what plants truly need to grow successfully.  The children’s beautiful chalk pastel studies of flowers are now displayed outside the classroom and we are receiving lots of compliments about them.
We’ve definitely earned a relaxing, safe and fun-filled holiday!
