Having reflected this week in school at the commemoration of 100 years of Armistice Day, the children learnt an awful lot about the end of the ‘Great War’ and we laid 100 poppies that the children made from Nursery Class to Year 6 in our mud kitchen as a means of observing this poignant occasion.

The Year 6 children wrote diary entries this week that led up to the final days of World War I and, in the video below, you will hear a selection of them and see many of the children laying their poppies into the earth. Their writing was beautifully composed as was the ceremony of laying their poppies – an event we won’t forget.

Thanks to all the staff and children for supporting this and to Alex, Alfie, Micaela, Katy and Eva for their voice recordings.
