The Parents’ Network and School couldn’t have chosen a finer day to host this year’s Family Fun Day. It was beautiful blue skies and very warm. The day started with some mini-sports day type activities for the children to participate in, led by Vera (the frog!) and Michelle (see video below) and after, in the school grounds there was a delicious barbecue and a movie in the hall. A massive thank you to the Parents’ Network – Michelle, Vera, Tamara, Kathryn, Kate and all the parent volunteers who gave up their time to make the day very special.

To top if all off, we raised £570 with the Crowdfunding page (HERE) and even more on the day to help towards the Childhood Trust ‘Summer Give’ campaign.

The Childhood Trust Summer Give campaign provides vital support to London children who are often out on the streets during the long summer holidays both hungry and often exposed to violence or worse.

The projects we work with provide safe and fun activities, meals and emotional support to help ensure children can return to school ready to learn having had relief from the chronic stress that poverty can cause.

Usually they can eat at school so have at least one hot meal a day and are in a safe environment at least for some part of the week. Please dig deep and ask friends and family to help support this fantastic charity – let’s get fit together at the same time!

The PN writes: Thanks to everyone who came to the Family Fun Day. We had a lovely sunny fun run in Shoreditch Park followed by a delicious BBQ, drinks and ice cream back at school as well as a movie afternoon for the children in the hall. Well done to all who helped organise the day. It was great!
