The children had a great lesson learning about classical music on Thursday this week. They learnt new words like orchestra and composer with our music and movement teacher Paul. One example they heard and moved to was Jacques Offenbach’s Can Can from the operetta Orpheus in the Underworld. They listened to a few different types of classical music and music played by an orchestra and the children were asked how it made them feel. They all used fantastic language describing this, using words such as happy, I’m flying, jumpy, I’m playing. Great stuff!
