On Friday we saw a brilliant example of what can be achieved when everyone contributes a little effort. The whole school (Years 1 – 6) was involved in creating the Rosemary Works Recycled Bottle Hanging Herb Garden! Cutting up bottles, threading and tying them on to fiendishly twisty plastic string, poking drainage holes, packing in compost and finally planting a beautiful range of herbs – every single step was completed by the children. Along the way we discussed the benefits of growing our own food. Fingers (green ones of course!) crossed that the herbs flourish so that we can use them for lunches and maybe some in-class cookery too!
