Today Year 2 got stuck into replanting the Plastic Bottle Hanging Garden outside Big Playschool. The children loved getting their hands dirty to refill each bottle with fresh compost and carefully bed down 2 viola plants. They were fascinated by the tiny white roots that looked like spiders’ webs and the feel of the crumbly compost. As they walked past, some of the older children made lovely comments as they remembered helping to construct the bottle garden a couple of years ago with Alison. With a little care, the plants should add a splash of colour to Autumn and last through Winter and into Spring. Great work Year 2!
