Year 6 enjoyed learning about the origins and beliefs of Buddhism before creating a delicious noodle dish to celebrate Chinese New Year. It is believed that eating long noodles during this festival will ensure a long and healthy life. The sweet, sour, salty and hot sauce we created with soy, vinegar, garlic and sweet chilli sauce was delicious and the children showed off their culinary prowess with plenty of chopping, mixing and tasting. After the noodles, the juicy tangerines we ate are said to encourage wealth as they resemble gold coins. Yum yum!
