Today at the woodwork bench, the children learned how to use the saws and work the vice. They are learning to always keep both hands on the saw handle when sawing – to keep fingers out of the way. We are lucky to have two fabulous saws – the orange handsaw and a very slick Japanese saw. The children have been introduced to using different tools over the last few lessons, so watch this space for skills to be put into practice and models produced! Please rest assured that tool use will be supervised by an adult.
