Year 6 – Wildlife and Conservation Workshop – Born Free

Year 6 attended an online workshop with Born Free and Volunteers for Future today. The focus was on discussion and a debate around a baby elephant, Pole Pole, who was given  to London Zoo in the 1980s. The children had to use the points of view from the zoo, the African government and of Pole Pole the baby elephant. In their groups, they wrote a persuasive speech to share with the class, before taking a vote with their personal opinion.

This links into our PSHEE topic of ‘One World’ all about global citizenship and will help us with our balanced argument writing for the rest of this week.
