Today the children in Year One have been ‘drawing with scissors’, just like the famous artist Henri Matisse. We read the story ‘Henry’s Scissors’, about Matisse and his love of cutting… and then had a try ourselves! The children loved the freedom this allowed them and they enjoyed trying their paper cut-outs in various positions before finally selecting where each looked best on the paper (just like Matisse!). I think you will agree that they did a splendid job!
