In today’s art lesson, the Year One children learnt about artist Alma Thomas. Alma Thomas was the first African-American woman to hold an exhibition of her work at the Whitney Museum of American Art and she liked to focus on beauty and happiness in her paintings. The Year One children loved her use of colour and shape and, as you can see, had a great go at producing some pieces inspired by her. Well done, Year One!
